Following up on my last post, I said that Nance was a very literal author I keep that stance... I have seen not many instances of colourful phrases though I have recorded what I could find.

Below is my required "Literary Illuminator" entry, but before I continue with that I remember Crystal saying that she expected something... more than just lists of words and colourful phrases. So, I decided to add my own point of view on he "language" used in Saving Cascadia.
According to Crystal this is Fast-Food literature. I thought that John J. Nance used a much more literal sense in writing... there wasn't a huge amount of figurative language or other colourful phrases. Occasionally there was a use of colourful phrases but for the most part everything was very, very, very literal. I could probably point out quite a few places where Nance could have used more colourful phrasing. Nance used a lot of words I couldn't identify... I had a great deal of fun looking up tons of words in the dictionary, it gave me practice at easily looking up words more efficiently. Though this book is a hard read and more for the adult type of reader I really enjoy reading this and I have learned so much from it.

Responce #1 "You can't judge a book by its cover"
I think that the author chose the title because the plot of the story is about saving Cascadia Island. I think the title means something bad might happen to Cascadia Island. I think the title literally means that someone has to save Cascadia Island. My prediction I that the island of Cascadia is going to have a disaster and it might kill lots of people when/if it does.

PreRead-Literary Illuminator
From some research on the book, Saving Cascadia, I have found some mixed results. Many of the reviews and blurbs I've read have claimed that this is a "fast-paced page turner" but others have said things like "Saving Cascadia is a silly waste of reading time.". This book was rated three and a half stars on Amazon. Most of the readers have said that this was a great read and that they highly recommend this book.
Saving Cascadia has won no awards according to what I have read but some of the other books John J. Nance has written have won awards.
"Customers who bought this item also bought..?" After reading through a few titles I realized that most of these titles were by John J. Nance as well. Some the books written by different authors quite resembled the idea of Saving Cascadia.
